Q22: Why PSAdmin program and its wizard cannot find Print Server?

We found some feedbacks from Windows XP users, there is a XP SP2 embedded personal firewall blocks PSAdmin packet to find the print servers. You can turn off Windows XP SP2 embedded personal firewall with the following steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Security Center.
3. Select Windows Firewall. You will see a dialog box like this file.
4. Select Off

After turn off firewall, PSAdmin works to find print server and setup it.
After setup, users may turn personal firewall back to ON again.

Meanwhile, PSAdmin use IPX and TCP/IP protocol to find Print Servers, if the PCs network interface card is connected on the same segment of Print Server, it tries IPX protocol first, if not found, it tries IP protocol again, even the IP address is not on the same subnet, PSAdmin will find the printers on the same segment of print server.

Q19: We use print server with Panasonic KX-7305-G printer, but not properly operation?

We have customer feedback about using UPS1211-B with Panasonic KX-7305-G printer.

In my network with Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE installed. Print Server is connected to Panasonic KX-7305-G printer. All installation has been done but some problem occurs. When I print from one machine by TCP/IP another computer cannot print until print server is reloaded. It means that when I start print out from computer A, I have to restart print server to allow print from computer B.

Panasonic KX-7305-G printer is a kind of printer which is so-called GDI printer.

Basically such kind of printer (GDI printer) cannot be used with Printer Server. So, it is only suggested to uninstall the original driver and install the printers PCL driver via download from this hyperlink to see how it works http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=

B/W%20Laser%20Printers

After our suggestion and users download driver, everything works fine.

Q18: Why some of the HP Printers cannot be used with Print Server?

Q17: Can print server support Windows 2003 Server?

Yes, please use new print monitor program.

Install new Print Server Monitor program Version 4.03.21 or above.

Q16: After power on, status LED flash 4 times (not 5 times) and cant print?

In such case, normally it is result from incomplete firmware upgrade process or improper firmware file. You may not see this print server from PSadmin utility. But you can ping to it.

You may find the proper firmware for it and use DOS command tftp to upgrade to make it.

For example, the following command makes UPS1213 not work properly.

U:\>tftp -i 192.168.1.111 put UPS1221-AU_Firmware.zip

Error on server : Invalid filename. <config.txt, mps07.bin>

To use the proper firmware as follows, it recovers the UPS1213 back to normal.

U:\>tftp -i 192.168.1.111 put mps07.bin
